I had four premolars extracted on Friday under local. I know everybody completely freaks out about dry socket following extractions, but as I'm currently recovering from not one, but two dry sockets, I can state with confidence that it's not the end of the world. Just make sure your oral surgeon or one of his partners at the practice will be able to see you if/when symptoms manifest, and it'll be fine. I was in pretty rough shape the night before I called, but immediately following my visit to their office on Monday, I was fine.
That said, it's been six days and I'm still on soft foods and taking OTC Advil four times a day because of the soreness at the extraction sites. I also had dreams about eating popcorn and tortilla chips last night, but other than that, I've largely been fine.
